Laughter Yoga Leader Certification Details

This is a sample outline of the two day training. Some details are subject to change depending upon the size of the group and experience of the participants. I will survey those enrolled in the training and focus on the items appropriate to the goals of the participants.

Lunch will not be provided, although there will be some healthy gluten free snacks and various drinks available. There are several places where lunch can be had close by, if you do not wish to bring a lunch with you.

The workshop will take place at my home in north Milwaukie, very close to the Sellwood area of Portland. Directions will be provided once you've enrolled in the training. It is possible to get to the training by Trimet.

There will be a telle-conference call the Sunday before the in-person training. I will give some of the history, health benefits, scientific research and contraindications of Laughter Yoga. This call will be recorded, so you do not need to be live on the call, although it is preferred. Calls via conference call lines may incur long distance charges depending on your carrier or phone plan. The intent of this call is to cover some of the yakkity-yak ahed of time and shorten the in-person training a bit so you are not completely worn out!

9:15 – 9.45 Laughter Yoga Video clips
9:45 – 10.15 Participant Introductions
10:15 – 11.00 Laughter Yoga, history, concept, philosophy
11:00 – 11.15 Tea/Coffee Break
11:15 – 12.30 Laughter Yoga session (13 foundation exercises)
12:30 – 2:00 LUNCH
2:00 – 3.00 Laughter Yoga Leader basic facilitation skills: 4 steps of Laughter
Yoga.
3:00 – 3.15 Tea/Coffee Break
3:15 – 4.00 Laughter Yoga session (14 more foundation exercises)
4:00 – 5.00 A quick description : what is Laughter Yoga? (Teacher
presentation and demonstration then student practice).
5:00 – 5.30 Laughter meditation basics followed by guided relaxation – led
by the teacher.

Day 2
9:00 – 9.30 Feedback from Day 1 – how did you feel about yesterday?
9:30 – 11.00 Practice session – Participants practice leading exercises.
11:00 – 11.30 Laughter Yoga in companies and corporations.
11:30 – 12.00 Laughter Yoga session (13 more foundation exercises)
12.00 – 12.30 How to laugh alone.
12:30 – 2:00 LUNCH
2:00 – 2.30 Laughter Yoga with seniors – techniques and practice.
2:30 – 3.00 How to start a laughter club
3:00 – 3.30 Tea Break
3:30 – 4.00 Laughter Yoga with children.
4:00 – 5.30 Laughter Yoga session (Possible trip to a Hawthorne Laughter Club)
5:30 – 6.00 Certification, group photo and networking.
